Parks & People represents DC's largest community land reclamation force, bringing together hundreds of community partners and thousands of volunteers to use community greening and park revitalization to transform the lives of tens of thousands of people. Today crime in that park is down over 99% and Meridian Hill is just one part of a broad grassroots alliance. WPP works to leverage the capital's two greatest but most forgotten assets -- its vast network of public lands and its strong communities-- to advance the entire region.WPP's goal is to make parks across Washington DC into safe, healthy, year-round centers of environment, education, economic investment, workforce development, agriculture, arts, culture, and community as they were meant to be-- vibrant village greens for all.
