The American Foundation for Aging Research's goal is to support and motivate young scientists and pre-professionals (medical and dental students) who are studying age related health problems and the biology of aging. We are unique because we dedicate funding to aging and age-related research and have very low administrative costs. Although we are not affiliated with North Carolina State University, the University generously donates office space, administrative and accounting services to AFAR. We have all seen aging friends and family members suffer from illnesses and diseases. Research in aging will help us lead more fulfilling lives, helps alleviate suffering and gives us hope for an active and healthy future.
