1 in 3 Children in Israel Live Under the Poverty Line
Since 1988, we're fighting hunger in Israel. Feeding needy children and families with 10,000 food baskets weekly in 80 locations. Volunteer/donate today. Yad Ezra V’Shulamit supports underprivileged children and at-risk youth, provides weddings for orphans, distributes 500 tons of food weekly— 2,500 tons on holidays— in 93 cities, supports lone soldiers, and sends emergency relief when it’s needed most. Yad Ezra VShulamit is a humanitarian organization that helps fight hunger and poverty in Israel. It was formed in 1988 by Aryeh Lurie. Mr. Lurie, who grew up hungry, made it his life mission to help needy families feed their children. He named the organization after his parents, who always gave to those less fortunate than them despite their own poverty. The organization assists those that are in need throughout the country widows, orphans, single parents, poor families, those too sick to work, the elderly (including holocaust survivors) and new immigrants. Our goal is to make sure everyone has food, to ease the suffering of impoverished families, break the cycle of poverty and give children from needy families a chance for a better future.
