“The Frederick Regional Youth Orchestra (FRYO) exists to promote, encourage, and facilitate the appreciation and performance of music by the youth of Frederick County and the surrounding region. FRYO offers students the opportunity to study orchestral and band music from a wide range of time periods, genres and cultures, and to participate in ensembles that reflect their interest and level of musical ability. Through a season of rehearsals and concerts, FRYO aims for the positive development of its student musicians through exposure to a variety of music literature, the experience of hard work, and the accomplishment of performance goals. On a broader scale, FRYO sees a higher intention--the cultivation of citizenship through musicianship.”
