Krewe of Romany THE KREWE OF ROMANY The Krewe of Romany is the longest reigning allladies Mardi Gras Krewe in Baton Rouge Louisiana. In 1949 nine imaginative and creative ladies formed the Krewe for the purpose of presenting an annual Mardi Gras Ball with the court being the debutante daughters of its members. Rich in tradition many families stay in this krewe for decadeswith multiple family members serving as Ball Captains Queens Maids Kings and Pages. The annual theme is the creation of the reigning Ball Captain each of whom has continued the great Romany tradition of presenting exceptional enjoyment to audiences during the Mardi Gras seasons for over 75 years.
