The writing on the back of this photograph identifies, the address of this house as 621 West Division St., and the young boy by the front steps as Robert G. Bohn. Robert was the son of Henry Bohn, who came to Grand Island in 1886 and opened a grocery store. After several years, he sold his interest in the grocery and became a traveling salesman with the Paxton-Gallagher Company of Omaha, retaining his residence in Grand Island. Robert was born in 1892, and the date on the back of the photograph is 1895, making Robert about 3 at the time. Robert would later marry Miss Helen Jarvis and move to Michigan. Robert’s sister, Edna, remained in Grand Island as a teacher and later as Register of Deeds for Hall County. The house still stands at 621 West Division in Grand Island. #StuhrMuseum #GrandIslandNE #FromTheArchives #HistoricPhoto (fb)
