Friends of Peabody Dog Park

Overview

Friends of Peabody Dog Park is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established to support the creation and maintenance of the Peabody Dog Park in Peabody, Massachusetts. The organization was formally established in 2013 by a core group of five individuals who were instrumental in securing the nonprofit status to facilitate fundraising and project development[2][3].

Mission and Activities

The primary mission of Friends of Peabody Dog Park has been to collaborate with the city of Peabody to construct and maintain a dog park. This involves raising funds for park development and upkeep. Specifically, the group aimed to raise $20,000 for construction purposes[5]. After the park's establishment, the organization focuses on assisting the city with ongoing maintenance and updates[1].

Impact

The efforts of Friends of Peabody Dog Park have been critical in bringing the Peabody Dog Park from conception to reality. The park officially opened on October 18, 2018, marking a significant achievement for the organization and the community it serves[1][4]. This accomplishment reflects the dedication of the nonprofit's members and their commitment to enhancing community amenities in Peabody.

Structure and Recognition

As an independent organization without affiliation to national or regional groups, Friends of Peabody Dog Park operates autonomously under its 501(c)(3) designation[3]. This independence allows the organization to focus on local initiatives and community needs specifically related to the Peabody Dog Park.
