Share Hope is a month of generosity! For the next 30 days our PAL meetings will be 'paying it forward' to support each other! If YOU and YOUR FAMILY have been affected by substance use disorder, you can acknowledge and support others going through the same situation too. Your giving supports PAL meetings nationwide and creates hope for those navigating the storm of addiction. The home and family serve as the foundation for healing, yet they frequently receive insufficient attention in the recovery process. Together, we can provide a network that uplifts and strengthens families, helping them navigate the storm with compassion and understanding. Please join us by clicking the link below to choose a PAL meeting to support. https://palgroup.app.neoncrm.com/np/clients/palgroup/publicFundraiserList.jsp?campaignId=80&&test=true Thank you for SHARING HOPE! 👆🏼True! 👇🏼 Are you surprised? My natural instinct is to ‘figure it out’ for her! I want to help! But what if true helping would be treating her as an adult? The adult parent to adult child role consists of: encouraging, listening, setting boundaries, communicating kindly and positively, and cheerleading. That can look like: •Telling her that you know she’s chemically dependent and you love her, and that she needs help • Telling him you believe in him and you know it’s his choice how and when he wants to get into recovery • Saying ‘no’ to letting him do drugs in your home, or even living there if he’s doing drugs • Spending more time caring for healthy family members and getting help for yourself • Only giving help that promotes recovery These habits take practice. Giving your adult substance user control over his own life can be difficult. Is it time for you to check out a free PAL parent support meeting? Go to https://meetings.palgroup.org/meetings to find a location near you.
