Champlin Park Youth Hockey Association

The Champlin Park Youth Hockey Association (CPYHA) is a nonprofit organization focused on promoting and developing ice hockey programs for youths within the boundaries of Champlin Park High School in Minnesota. As a feeder system for the high school's hockey programs, CPYHA aims to foster an environment that aligns solid leadership with positive coaching and strong member relationships, ensuring fiscal responsibility and player development.

Mission Statement

CPYHA's mission is to develop individual hockey players within a team concept, maximizing their physical abilities and interests. The organization seeks to create an environment where participants exhibit pride and a desire to continue playing hockey. Additionally, CPYHA strives to provide opportunities for players to develop life skills that will benefit them beyond the ice rink.

Structure and Governance

• Membership: Membership in CPYHA is open to anyone interested in its purpose. Eligibility includes payment of annual registration fees, and membership terms are one year.
• Fees: Annual registration fees are determined by the Board of Directors, and payment is required at registration.
• Board of Directors: The Board oversees various operational aspects, including committee management and financial decisions.

Programs

CPYHA operates a variety of hockey programs, including Mite, Squirt, Peewee, Bantam, and Girls' teams, each offered at different skill levels. For younger players, particularly those aged 4-9 new to hockey, the association provides Mite and 8U programs, following MN Hockey's development model guidelines.

Community Involvement and Fundraising

CPYHA requires participation in fundraising activities, such as selling raffle tickets, to support its programs. Additionally, families of traveling players are expected to fulfill volunteer hours, which can be managed through an online platform called "Dibs." This platform helps organize activities and ensures community involvement.

Facilities

The association uses the Champlin Ice Forum as its primary facility for hockey activities.

Financial and Nonprofit Status

CPYHA is registered as a nonprofit organization with the EIN 41-1714286. If the organization were to cease operations, the Board of Directors would manage any remaining assets in accordance with nonprofit regulations.
