FOR EXAMPLE, FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WAS GIVEN TO A LOCAL FIREFIGHTER TO HELP OFFSET SOME OF HIS MEDICAL BILLS AFTER HE WAS SEVERELY BURNED IN A HOUSE FIRE. THE SOURCE OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WAS THE NET PROCEEDS AND DONATIONS RESULTING FROM THE ANNUAL FIREFIGHTER'S BALL.
