Join us as we discuss advocacy efforts needed to uplift concerns about proposed cuts to the Advanced Placement (AP) program as included in the Senate’s passed budget. Pleasr answer this “Call to Action”!!! The proposed budget includes (1) cuts to AP Exam funding limiting support to students identified as economically disadvantaged rather than for all students as has been the case since 2015; and (2) the elimination of the North Carolina AP Partnership (NCAPP), which provides professional development and other supports for teachers, counselors and administrators. The awards honor creative interpretations of the theme “Accepting Imperfection” in the following categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. Seven students have been honored with the Outstanding Interpretation Award, and over 200 students have been recognized with Awards of Excellence and Merit.
