Heyward House
The Historic Bluffton Foundation is a pillar in the historic and cultural preservation of the lowcountry. To protect, preserve and promote the history and cultural heritage of the town of Bluffton, South Carolina through education, marketing, hands on preservation of buildings and sites, maintenance of the Caldwell archives and operation of the Heyward House Museum and Welcome Center.

Heyward House Museum Welcome to Historic Bluffton. Begin your visit here at The Heyward House in the town of Bluffton. Tour our House Museum built by enslaved West Africans in 1841 find maps and brochures for area businesses and get a taste of the culture and history of our fair town. The Heyward House Museum and Welcome Center is owned and operated by the Historic Bluffton Foundation a nonprofit 501C3 corporation dedicated to the preservation of the culture and history of Bluffton.
