🍎🎓 Future Teacher on the Move: Bailey Rutherford’s Inspiring Semester Abroad in Vienna! Bailey is a 2023 Chase Scholar attending the University of New Mexico, where he's studying to become a teacher. Here's what he had to say about his semester abroad so far! "I am currently taking classes at the Pädagogische Hochschule Wien, which is a specialized university designated to Teacher Education. I'm working on research projects, analyzing diverse curriculums from across Europe and developing my teacher toolbox. I am also working in a middle school teaching English to 7th and 8th graders. I am truly falling in love with the profession and can't wait for my own classroom! My favorite things so far... there are many! I have been traveling, so seeing Prague and Budapest were very fun adventures. Here in Vienna outside activities and leisure are very important, so picnics in Volksgarten that overlook the national parliament are a must-have! Lastly, before it got warm, ice skating in front of the Vienna state building made the first nights here worth while!"
