This mission happens through our economic development activities to support our businesses and residential communities so they can continue to thrive. From top-notch businesses and offices to family-friendly neighborhoods and parks, our vision is highlight and support the great purpose the Golden Mile holds for our city. We are inspired by our area’s history and learning from our past to revitalize the area with long-term solutions for our future.

Overview

Golden Mile Alliance Inc. is a nonprofit organization based in Frederick, Maryland, dedicated to enhancing the Golden Mile corridor's economic vitality and community spirit. Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) organization on February 16, 2012, the Alliance focuses on promoting the Golden Mile as a diverse and vibrant area for both commercial and residential purposes.

History

The origins of the Golden Mile Alliance trace back to 2001 when the City of Frederick established a task force to assess the economic challenges facing the Golden Mile, also known as Route 40 West. In 2011, under the leadership of former Mayor Randy McClement, the Golden Mile Alliance Organizing Committee was formed to unify the local community, including residents and business owners. Following a successful transition to a formal nonprofit structure, the Golden Mile Alliance was officially established to drive community collaboration and economic development.

Mission and Goals

The mission of the Golden Mile Alliance is to transform the Golden Mile into a welcoming, economically robust, and desirable community. The organization engages in various activities aimed at supporting local businesses, improving neighborhoods, and fostering community development. Its goals include:

  • Advocating for the interests of businesses and residents along the Golden Mile.
  • Promoting local shopping, dining, and recreation to enhance the area's appeal.
