What began as a product drop-off for the host of a Barstool Sports program quickly turned into an unexpected on-air social media shoutout for Culver-Stockton College alumnus Jeff Weckback ’99 — and for Culver-Stockton College itself. Jeff was recently featured in a widely viewed social media video that highlighted C-SC and our proud legacy in Athletics. But the real story isn’t just about a chance appearance—it’s about where it all began. Weckback, a former Wildcat soccer player and proud Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity member, credits C-SC with helping him grow into the successful marketing and sales VP and leader he is today. “Had I gone to a big school, I might not have graduated. The Hill was the right place for me to grow up and figure things out. Culver also helped me with confidence and how to interact in social settings,” he said. “Confidence helps with networking. Networking can lead to some unique experiences — which is what led to my relationship with Coach Gruden.” He also credits another C-SC alumnus and former C-SC Board of Trustees’ member Jeff Stuerman ’82, and his former soccer coach, Bill Schneider, for helping shape his path. “One of our alumni from the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, Jeff Stuerman, would come back and he would do leadership seminars for us. Because of this connection, I got to know him very well. The reason I mention him is because this is where Culver can lead to some cool things,” Weckback explained. “Jeffrey became my mentor, I interned with him during my junior going into senior year, and then that was my first job out of college. I worked for him at the AG Edwards Trust Company in St. Louis.” Weckback also noted that his soccer coach and C-SC physical education faculty member, Bill Schneider, was instrumental in helping him grow through his four years at C-SC. “Bill and, overall Culver-Stockton College, gave me the space to grow, stay close to home, and figure out who I was meant to be,” he said. And while his journey has taken him far, the foundation built on the Hill continues to shape who Jeff Weckback is today. Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat.💙 (fb)
