❤️ Successful Heart Screening at Hewitt Trussville High School Heart for Athletes Kristoffer Larsen BIG HEART Memorial Foundation CemsCpr traveled to Trussville, Alabama for a heart screening event! We’re excited to share that we provided heart screenings for 306 students at Hewitt-Trussville High School that included a 12-lead EKG — a powerful tool that can detect hidden heart conditions. Since 1 in 300 students may have an undetectable heart issue, early detection can save lives! Thanks to these screenings, we identified two students with conditions that could have led to Sudden Cardiac Arrest — proof of how important these screenings are. In addition, 314 individuals received Hands-Only CPR and AED training — empowering them to respond in an emergency. A special thanks to Dr. Lynn Batten, pediatric cardiologist and Medical Director of Heart for Athletes for attending this event and interpreting the 12-lead EKGs for each student ~ on site!
