Leadership by people on the autism spectrum; Self-advocacy focus. Strengths-based, rather than deficit-based, approach. The Adult Autism Group helps adults on the autism spectrum to live self-directed and fulfilling lives through the use of self-advocacy skills, person-centered planning and community support in the Springfield, Illinois area, and educates the public about the barriers these people face as they seek to integrate into the community. Our program is open to adults age 18 and older who are on the autism spectrum or think they may be and want to learn more (regular members) and their families and friends (who can join as associate members).

Our mission is to help adults on the autism spectrum to live more successful fulfilling lives. Current Programs Monthly Meeting While monthly meetings were paused due to COVID The Adult Autism Group plans to soon resume monthly meetings to socialize and discuss topics of interest to those on the spectrum and their allies. We are currently looking for a new location for monthly meetings.
