We are touched by the offers to volunteer and donate to recovery efforts in Forest Park. 💚 Large, fallen trees and debris obstruct many pathways and some of our favorite places. Repairing the damage and making Forest Park safe again will require a massive, expensive effort. We are lining up volunteers to help remove debris after each area is cleared of hazards. A couple of updates as storm recovery continues, and how you can help in these first few days: 1) Limit or avoid recreational or non-essential visits for now. Our teams appreciate space to clear hazards and work safely, and the less they have to reroute traffic, the faster they can accomplish their tasks. Multiple institutions remain closed (but some are already reopen), so check before you go and be mindful of recovery work. 2) Thank you for the many offers to volunteer or support cleanup! In time we definitely lean on our community's amazing volunteers, but in this initial phase we must focus on assessing damage and removing hazards, which for everyone’s safety is best handled by our specially trained teams.
