When Amaud aged out of foster care, he was determined to make a better life for himself. Despite being homeless, Amaud persevered working two jobs, studying, and saving with the hope of attending college. During this time, he sought out help from The Relatives. In between shifts, Amaud often visited The Relatives On Ramp Resource Center to rest and recharge. With free meals, educational and personal development workshops, and access to resources, Amaud found a support system to lean on. "It was kind of a blessing in a sense," he explains. "I just found this place. I went in, and from there my life just started growing." Today, Amaud attends North Carolina A&T State University, where he double majors in Psychology and Biology.
