Spring has sprung, and after a long winter we are delighted to see projects becoming realities. We have many irons in the fire, and are THRILLED to see our Wetland Boardwalk Project at Woodrow Wilson High School wrapping up! Please join us May 20th to celebrate this collaborative effort with @beckleyflyingeagles and the Beckley Academy of Careers and Technology. Big thanks to our contractor, Dan Hill Construction, for doing a fantastic job and facilitating student involvement in the construction. Partners include the US Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resource Conservation Service and the Raleigh County Board of Education, with generous funding provided by the WV Department of Transportation. Spring has arrived after a long and hard winter, and we are THRILLED that our projects are roaring back into action. Our stormwater detention project at the Beckley Little League Fields and Raleigh County Convention Center has been completed and commissioned for service! This installation features a sophisticated Opti valve system, and is managed by the @beckleysanitaryboard through cloud-based data integration to help predict and control stormwater surges. What this means is that the little league fields and adjacent neighborhoods will no longer be subjected to flooding, and the greater Piney Creek Watershed will be further protected from contaminates that are carried in soils and other debris in flood events.
