We are an open intake animal shelter. Donations of money, pet food, blankets, towels, toys, and cleaning products are always needed. The mission of the Sumter Humane Society is to save the lives, or reduce the suffering of the homeless cats and dogs of the City of Americus and Sumter County. Our goal is also to educate our community on the importance of spay/neuter and the care of their personal felines and canines.

A 501c3 nonprofit organization the Sumter Humane Society makes an impact in the community. Many of the pets at the shelter receive vaccinations and medical care for the first time in their lives.
