Tennessee United for Human Rights

Tennessee United for Human Rights is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in the state of Tennessee and beyond. It is an affiliate of the international organization United for Human Rights, which was founded in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Mission and Activities

The primary mission of Tennessee United for Human Rights is to provide educational resources and activities that promote understanding, protection, and implementation of human rights. The organization seeks to unite individuals, educators, organizations, and governmental entities in disseminating and adopting the principles outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights throughout society.

Tennessee United for Human Rights engages in various activities to educate the public about human rights. These efforts are designed to enhance awareness and support for the fundamental freedoms and rights enshrined in the Declaration, which includes thirty articles defining basic human rights.

Human Rights Advocacy

The organization participates in annual celebrations of International Human Rights Day, which is observed on December 10th, commemorating the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations in 1948. Through these events and other initiatives, Tennessee United for Human Rights aims to foster unity and equality within communities, highlighting the importance of collective action in advancing human rights.

Recognition of Human Rights Leaders
