Anuja SA Inc. is a non-profit organization created to promote the Sister-City alliance between San Antonio and Chennai, India. Their mission is to foster relationships between the two cities in various facets, with the largest program, Anuja Arts, dedicated to Arts and Culture. Anuja, SA also works closely with the City of San Antonio International Relations office, responsible for Sister-City relationships, to foster exchanges in the areas of Medicine, Education, and Sports. The king-pin of Anuja Arts is the Diwali SA Festival of Lights, for which Anuja SA provides administrative, promotional, fundraising and volunteer support. In 2011, The Diwali Festival won the Sister-Cities International’s Innovation: Arts and Culture Award for excellence.
