Tornado Update from Friday: We are thankful to share that all our DOORWAYS buildings and residents are safe following Friday’s tornado, with only minor tree damage reported at Cooper House. While our properties were spared major harm, some of our program participants, who receive rental assistance through DOORWAYS, have been directly impacted by the severe weather. As part of our circle of care, DOORWAYS is providing emergency housing for those displaced. We have already relocated several individuals to safe temporary accommodations and are working to secure permanent housing for them as quickly as possible. Emergency relocations like these fall outside our regular funding streams, but DOORWAYS remains steadfast in our mission: to provide housing and support for those in need. Our thoughts and prayers also go out to Centennial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) St. Louis, which has suffered such great loss during this time. Centennial has been a treasured support to Cooper House and has generously been a major part of our annual BBQ for the residents for many years.
