As a result of a merger between Greater Mercer County Charitable Foundation and The Bluefield Area Foundation, Inc., the Board of Directors and Advisory Committee are pleased to announce the creation of Community Foundation of the Virginias, Inc., a community foundation established to provide an opportunity for people to give back to the community and put their own innovative ideas for charitable giving into action. The Foundation promotes and facilitates philanthropy primarily in Mercer County, WV and Tazewell County, VA, and some nearby areas, by receiving charitable contributions, providing prudent and responsible financial management, and distributing grants to effective projects and programs that enrich the quality of community life.
