JUXTAPOSITION DANCE THEATRE CORPORATION

At JuxtaPosition Dance Theatre we aim to make dances that create contrast within concepts, music, and movement. The choreography that most interests us is that which pushes limits, derives inspiration from unlikely places, and blooms from confined spaces. Our dances thrive in the bodies of the unexpected dancer and strive to depict both the joy and the pain in humanity. As an emerging contemporary modern dance company, Juxtaposition Dance Theatre seeks to contribute to the vitality and enrichment of the artistic community in Orange County by: * creating intellectual, accessible, relatable, and aesthetically beautiful dances that resonate with the audience; * engaging the community by creating work that instills social awareness in the viewer and empassions the dancer; * breaking the barriers of traditional stereotypes in dance by creating performance and training opportunities for dancers of various backgrounds, abilities, shapes and sizes; * developing exciting, highly physical and dynamic choreography that pushes contrasting elements into our consciousness; * bringing dance performance and dance education to underprivileged and underserved areas of our community; * and seeking to contribute to the Orange County dance landscape by supporting the work of our fellow dance companies and artists.
