After the Harvest rescues nutritious fruits and vegetables from going to waste and donates them to agencies that serve hungry people, primarily in Greater KC. Urban Produce Push fights hunger, improves nutrition, and reduces food waste by rescuing, recovering, and distributing fresh, nutrient-dense produce to the most food insecure neighborhoods in the Greater Kansas City area. After the Harvest’s mission is to fight hunger, improve nutrition, and reduce food waste by rescuing fresh produce and distributing it to organizations that feed hungry people. Founded on May 19, 2014 in Kansas City, ATH provides a simple yet profound way to feed people year-round by saving fresh produce that would otherwise go to waste and getting it to people who would otherwise go hungry. We do this by targeting the two main points of large-volume food waste: (1) farmers’ fields after the harvest and (2) packing operations where produce is prepared for shipping to markets. ATH is working to provide  3 million pounds of fresh produce to food banks and feeding agencies in Missouri and Kansas in 2022.
