Calling all nisse hunters! Danish Day is coming up soon and the DAC needs help finding our mischievous gnomes and nisser. Some are lost, some forgot about their curfew and some are just plain naughty! Kids have a knack for finding these delightful creatures, who always seem to escape on Danish Day. Will you help us find them on June 1st at 2:00? Whoever finds all five of them first wins a prize. Before and after the hunt, you can play with gigantic bubbles, do some coloring and build something with Duplo. We hope to see you there! (fb)

Danish Day - June 1, 2025 11 am to 3 pm on the grounds of the Danish American Center. Save the date! Join us again for an afternoon of fellowship and great food. This year’s celebration will again feature a beer garden. Please bring chairs with you for seating on the lawn and enjoy the music, food and program. You are welcome to bring food. However, we will have a repeat of last year’s popular Danish style hot dogs with all the trimmings, small food baskets such as frikadeller, vegetable salad with optional shrimp, cheese, æbleskiver, layer cake, and ice cream for sale as well. Vendors include Ingebretsen’s Nordic Marketplace, The Hygge Maker, artists Roger Nielsen & Craig Thompson and Danish Woodworking by Flemming Petersen. Craft and music demonstrations by the DAC’s Viking Guild, and nisse hunt for the kids! New this year is Loppemarked, Danish fleamarket. No entrance fee, but a Goodwill donation is much appreciated.
