Northern Virginia Sheltie Rescue
Northern Virginia Sheltie Rescue (NVSR), founded in 1999, grew out of the need to find adoptive homes for the ever-increasing number of unwanted or improperly placed Shetland Sheepdogs. NVSR is comprised entirely of volunteers that assist in the rescue and placement of Shelties throughout Virginia. Additionally, a great deal of NVSR's efforts is directed at educating the public about the breed and the difficulties of living with a herding dog. NVSR's goal is to avoid Shelties ever ending up in a rescue by educating people that are considering the acquisition of one of these dogs.
