WESTIERESCUE.COM A not-for-profit organized to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome West Highland White T Humane Activities: Westie Rescue provides the following services:  Rescue, Rehabilitation, and re-homing of homeless or un-wanted West Highland White Terriers (Westies).  WESTIE RESCUE OF THE MID-ATLANTIC STATES HAS HELPED HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE RECEIVE ACCURATE AND UP TO DATE INFORMATION SO THAT THEY CAN KEEP THEIR WEST HIGHLAND WHITE TERRIER (WESTIE) HEALTHY, PROPERLY FED, EXERCISED AND SOCIALIZED. Each year, owners, state, county, and local municipal animal control authorities, reach out to Westie Rescue regarding dogs that are unwanted, contact Westie Rescue.  Westie Rescue acts quickly to pick up the animal in question, drives them directly to a veterinarian hospital to ensure that the Westie in question receives a medical evaluation, rabies shots, and other medical care as required by the experienced vets we use. The Westie is then placed into foster care as we screen potential homes for a final placement.  Each year we help 100+ Westies under this program. In 2011 over 200 Westies were assisted in multiple forms, some were rescued, rehabilitated and when ready medically and behaviorally were rehomed.  With others we assisted the owners with concerns and help them train and care for their own Westie.   Westie Rescue also assists other volunteer rescue groups across the USA who in turn rescues an additional 500 Westies in their own towns, cities, and States each year.
