A strong food system is the foundation of a food-secure Maryland. Recent USDA funding cuts threaten not only our ability to provide fresh, local food to those in need but also the farmers who supply it. These programs have been a win-win for families and farmers alike, and their absence will be deeply felt. We’ll continue working to fill the gaps and #advocate for sustainable solutions. 📣 Please join us in giving our NEW MASCOT a warm welcome! Honoring both our work to provide neighbors with quality protein (while helping rid the Chesapeake of invasive blue catfish) and the legacy of our soon-to-be-retiring President & CEO Carmen Del Guercio, we are pleased to announce the Maryland Food Bank’s 1st ever mascot: “The Gwetch!” 🐟 #MarylandFoodBank #EndHunger #BlueCatfish #NewMascot #AprilFools (fb)
