Southeastern Equine Rescue Inc.

Southeastern Equine Rescue, Inc. (SEER) is a not for profit organization that provides a humane alternative for horses and other large animals by providing necessary care and training depending on individual circumstances to increase their potential for adoption or sanctuary when deemed. Rescue includes pickup from owners, animal welfare facilities, race tracks, or slaughter bound auctions, assessment of the equine's suitability as a pet, provision of health care and training as needed and appropriate, qualification of perspective homes, placement, follow-up, and, if a placement fails, recovery into Southeastern Equine Rescue Inc. The specific objectives and purposes of SEER is:(A) To be a separate, non-profit organization to assist equines needing new homes and assist local rescue groups and individuals in all aspects of rescuing equines from animal shelters or slaughter bound auctions;(B) To provide education and charitable assistance to individuals on all aspects of equine rescue, including the maintenance of a list of volunteers willing to provide assistance for rescued equines;(C) To provide assistance to individuals who need to rehome their equine due to family circumstances or other unforeseen events;(D) To assist and educate individuals who are interested in adopting a rescue equine;(E) To provide follow-up educational services to individuals who adopt a rescued equine;(F) To transport and help arrange transport of rescued equines to new homes;(G) To prevent cruelty to animals and provide funds for the purpose of having equines spayed or gelded to prevent over breeding;(H) To pay for appropriate routine and preventative veterinary care given to equines in rescue;and(I) To raise funds to assist other equine rescue groups or individuals in the rescue, foster care, transportation, purchase of equines from shelters, auctions, and animal welfare groups, and placement of rescued equines.
