National Council on Student Development

The National Council on Student Development (NCSD) is a U.S. nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing student affairs and development in higher education, particularly within community colleges.

Mission and Objectives

NCSD focuses on providing professional development opportunities for student development professionals in higher education. It aims to foster a deeper understanding and respect for the diverse needs and experiences of community college students and professionals through advocacy and education.

Activities and Initiatives

NCSD supports community college institutions across the United States by promoting the development of their students. It aligns its mission with that of the American Association of Community Colleges to create "a nation of learners by advancing America’s community colleges." NCSD also engages in fundraising campaigns to advance its mission and support equity initiatives.

Membership and Partnerships

NCSD invites professionals, alumni, and prospective donors to become part of its community. It seeks partnerships to scale its impact and align with broader educational goals, including equity and access campaigns.

Current Projects
