Keep the Faith in Frankford

Keep the Faith in Frankford is a U.S. nonprofit organization focused on improving the urban environment and liveability of Frankford, a community in Philadelphia. The organization was established following the closure of St. Joachim Church and Mater Dolorosa in 2013. Despite these closures, Keep the Faith in Frankford has worked to maintain and enhance the religious and community presence in Frankford.

• Religious Services: Although St. Joachim Church was initially closed, it now houses the Padre Pio Prayer Center, offering worship and charitable services. This was made possible by the Capuchin Franciscans of the St. Augustine Province purchasing the site and establishing the Padre Pio Friary nearby.

Background

The organization's efforts began as a response to the closure of St. Joachim and Mater Dolorosa churches in June 2013. Since then, it has worked tirelessly to ensure that the legacy and history of St. Joachim are preserved and utilized for community benefit. This includes projects such as the Friends of St. Joachim Cemetery and ongoing charity work in the community.

Keep the Faith in Frankford is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, making donations tax-deductible. Despite being headquartered in Chincoteague, VA, its primary focus remains on supporting and enhancing the community in Frankford, Philadelphia.
