RILITE Foundation Research Innovation into the Causes Cures for Lupus Learn More We identify and fund totally novel insightful research into the causes and cures for Lupus. Development of new drugs for treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus lupus is facing a crisis. As is the case with drug development generally the uncertain and very expensive pathway to approval is a substantial impediment. In the case of lupus the multiple facets of the disease have made it very difficult to develop a compound which will provide effective treatment and several recent highprofile clinical trial failures have caused the pharmaceutical industry to question the wisdom of investing in the search for drugs to treat lupus.
