Love Protects. My reality these days in advocating for children and teens demonstrates human trafficking is rampant in our community. This year opportunities have come up to be in middle schools and high schools to teach about human and drug trafficking. Are you aware there are 100s of children missing in Columbus? What are the leaders doing? Many are being groomed and don't even know it. Homeless teen girls are contacting me saying they were ganged raped in bathrooms at a teen Drop-In Center. While there are several adult Drop-In Centers that are hot spots for dangerous activities inside and outside. What does this say to you? Where are the safe places for children and adults? Perps are lurking and they are near you even in churches! We have teen boys sexting and blackmailing girls. Adult perps phishing poor and vulnerable kids while parents are clueless. More than ever colored children are missing in schools and the public is unaware. I am sounding the ALARM wake up Columbus I have learned a lot from the frontlines. Runaways kids are preyed upon and the Amber Alert System is not activated. Teen suicide rate is on the rise and it is the 2nd leading cause for American youth. Cyberbullying is 24/7 unlike when I was growing up. In the 1980s there was a public announcement asking "Do you know where you children is?" It is time to teach your child to protect himself/herself. Every second a child is missing he/she is being exposed to dangerous folks. My heart breaks to find out that parents are grooming their children. Columbus Public Schools DO NOT educate kids about human trafficking maybe if they did we would not have the many kids missing. Kids are unpredictable yet predators are not! Give the kids the tools they will protect themselves and others from these dangerous folks. Please contact your kids schools I have 4 lesson series that are life saving! I want to thank the teachers who convinced their school principals to open the doors for the Love Warrior to come in. Truesday is about keeping you aware about things you may not know that is effecting the quality of life of folks in Columbus. There are a lot of people hurting even in the local shelters who feel unsafe. This year police your community and protect yourself and your family from these organizations and other poverty pimps. Love protects. Maya Angelou, a poet and a civil rights activist said, “The love of the family, the love of one person can heal. It heals the scars left by a larger society." It is the love month! I often ask myself the question Where is the Love? Pastors, and other types of charitable organizations CEOs getting paid over $300k while there are homeless children and families living in cars unable to pay rent. Children and youth being groomed into prostitution. Drop-In Centers that supposed to promote harm reduction have no boundaries. They give free access to drug lords to run shops outside their building. The civic leaders and private sector funding them are complicit to the criminal activities.
