Patagonia Area Resource Alliance (PARA) is a community-driven nonprofit working to protect the water and wildlife in the Patagonia, AZ region. The Patagonia Area Resource Alliance (PARA), based in southern Arizona, is a grassroots nonprofit that works to protect water and wildlife from foreign mining. Water is life, don't mine it away! The Patagonia Area Resource Alliance (PARA) is a grassroots citizen watchdog group committed to preserving and protecting the Patagonia, Arizona region. Our Mission: To hold federal and state agencies accountable to the laws and regulations on exploratory and mining activities in the Patagonia Mountains and the Sonoita Creek Watershed. To collaborate with strategic partners to i) assure that any mining activities meet the highest science-based standards and ii) protect the water, land, and wildlife of the Patagonia Mountains from the negative impacts of modern industrial mining. To support the expansion of the nature-based restorative economy that thrives on and supports the remarkable biodiversity and cultural heritage of our region
