Box 57306 Washington, DC 20037 www.theglobalplayground.org Currently, there are over 2 billion school-age children in our world. Over 1.75 billion, or 86%, live in less-developed regions. By the year 2050, that number will increase to over 90%. Sadly, underdeveloped countries do not have the educational resources necessary to support their large school-age populations. To the degree that underdeveloped countries lack the educational resources they need, Global Playground aims to provide them by funding projects that increase access to, and quality of, education in these regions.

Global Playground partners with education NGOs and communities across the world to build educational infrastructure and with local teachers at project sites to facilitate crosscultural exchange allowing nearly all donations to go directly towards Global Playgrounds programs.

This week we celebrated World Children's Day with all our students around the world. This special day commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child by the UN General Assembly in 1959 and the adoption of the Convention of the Rights of the Child in 1989. It inspires us to not only celebrate children around the world, but to also promote and protect children's rights, working towards a better world and future for the youth of our society.
