Aretas Assistance Dogs specializes in service dogs for children. We train for a variety of disabilities, including physical, psychiatric, and medical alert needs. We provide both owner training and occasional fully trained service dogs. Aretas dogs are trained using science-based positive reinforcement methods, and training plans encompass the entire family and support system . Aretas also assists families in selecting the right breed or type of dog for their situation, researches reputable breeders or rescue groups, and evaluates puppy litters and adult dogs to find just the right dog for the client. An emphasis is placed on the connection between dog and child during the evaluation process. Aretas is a Greek word meaning excellence, and we constantly strive to live up to our name.
