Dwarf Winterberry (Ilex verticillata) 'Red Sprite’ 🌱 Winterberries are great native shrubs that bring a pop color into your winter garden. Their berries require several hard frosts before they begin to sweeten, an interesting feature which not only helps preserve the berries until further into winter as other food sources become scarce, but it also allows people to enjoy their splendor later in the season. 🤔❓Did you know: Like most other hollies, Winterberry are dioecious and require both male and female shrubs in order for fruit to be produce.
