Historical resources create a distinct sense of community identity and continuity for both residents and visitors. The people neighborhoods and communities their relationships their achievements and traditions the churches schools homes and other buildings bridges other structures the past both historic events and individual memories combine to form a culturally diverse heritage that is unique to the Goose Creek Historic District. Lincoln Preservation Foundation was founded in 2000 by community members concerned about encroaching development on the Goose Creek Historic District.
