AFTAB Committee
Aftab Committee calls upon creative talent from the #IranianAmerican community to ‘Amplify Empathy Through Design. ’ Aftab is looking for design that goes beyond the master of #color, form, function, and anticipates the future needs of individuals and society, by incorporating the main theme: #Empathy. Finalists will be chosen by an online public vote for the most inspirational design in March 2022.

Running until March 19, Le Caftan, Le Turban features new work by @arlingtonartscenter resident artist @negarahkami Negar Ahkami. 👀🌞👇 In her recent paintings, Ahkami depicts European film and fashion icons clad in caftans and turbans. The paintings fuse campy fashion references in Ahkami’s own ornate Persian sensibility with motifs from Ancient Greek and Italian pottery, French religious objects, and 1960s psychedelics.
