FEA board members were present as the FCPS School Board passed the FY 2026 Budget this evening which includes 6% salary raises for 28,297 operational and instructional staff starting July 1, 2025! As a reminder, FCPS was underfunded by $121.3 million dollars which led to some challenging budget cut. We must all work collaboratively across our local and state governments to ensure FCPS is fully funded for FY 2027! (fb)

WE ARE ABSOLUTELY APPALLED! Chairman Jeff McKay has the nerve to try and take credit for the very work he undermined. While educators fought tooth and nail for Fairfax County’s first collective bargaining agreement in nearly 50 years, Jeff McKay led the charge to underfund it. Now, after attempting to shortchange 28,000 employees, he wants to claim the 6% raise as a political win? NO. That raise was earned through union power, collective action, and the unbreakable spirit of educators, not through the actions of a politician who tried to deny us what we deserve.
