Legends of the Fly, was conceived in 2013, as a way to raise awareness about fly fishing in Virginia, to increase participation in the sport, celebrate our fly fishing culture, and motivate our tribe to have fun while making a lasting and positive impact on the fishery. We strive to strengthen the catch and release ethic to support fishery conservation. In addition Legends of the Fly (LOF) is designed to raise funds for charities that have real social and environmental value.

Legends of the Fly April 19 2025 Legends of the Fly 2025 Expanding Fly Fishing in Hampton Roads For the past 11 years Legends of the Fly has sought to grow the sport of fly fishing locally via hosting the fly fishing film tour our fly fishing exclusive tournament and other various events. All money raised from events is donated to both local and national charities. We have hosted various fly fishing celebrities including Chico Fernandez Stu Apte Andy Mill and the Abel Women. The board members are all local anglers that have a common love of both fresh and saltwater fly fishing.
