📢 The recently passed House budget bill proposes the largest-ever cut to Medicaid, reduces Medicare by $500 billion, eliminates food and school lunch support, and strips funding for clean energy—all while expanding tax benefits for the wealthiest individuals and corporations. These choices make it harder for people to survive, and they do not reflect the values of human dignity, care for the vulnerable, and the common good. As people of faith, we believe our laws should reflect our moral commitment to care for one another, especially those most in need.
