Nancy Randall’s "In the Bardo" (2023) explores the liminal space between death and rebirth—a moment of transformation and transition. Her landscape scenes, filled with creatures in flux, reflect the chaos of our time, while offering a reminder of nature’s constant cycle of renewal and balance. “Chaos rules the day, our mainstream systems are falling apart, and, very sadly, the planet’s ecosystems are in free fall...But nature is not concerned with conflict, separation, and war—only with the continuous and balanced manifestation of life.”—Nancy Randall "In the Bardo" is on display now, alongside "Ann Wolff: The Art of Living," at ASI. Ann Wolff’s work is shaped by a life lived as a woman—full of labor, transformation, and quiet rebellion. In her drawings, women sit on stools and stand by ladders—symbols of effort and escape. In sculpture, she honors the body, casting her own feet and hands as poetic records of time and self. “— My feet — my time on earth — — my hands are birds at home — — my skin is a landscape —” —Ann Wolff "Ann Wolff: The Art of Living" is now on view at ASI.
