We serve the children of Sierra Leone, West Africa by:-Making disciples through soccer: You may think soccer (football) is a fringe sport in the USA. But across the world, it is the top sport. Football is the international language. In Sierra Leone, a Muslim child may not be allowed to go to a church but he or she will join a football club where the gospel is taught. FC Seattle SL brings the gospel where the kids are - on the football pitch.-Caring for orphans: The Ebola virus left many kids without parents. While most have been settled with extended family, sometimes their situations are still vulnerable: little food, poor living conditions and lack of love. FC Seattle SL is helping to bring care to these orphans by providing food assistance, school fees and uniforms, and other needs through a program chaperoned by adults that love them.-Farming for the future: Sierra Leone is one of the 5 most impoverished countries in the world. Over half of adults engage in subsistence farming for their livelihood. FC Seattle provides training for the boys and girls in agriculture—chicken farming as well as traditional crops like cassava and palm kernal - while raising money to fund its ongoing projects and working toward self-sustainability.
