Compass Center was created from the merger on July 1, 2012, of Family Violence Prevention Center of Orange County (founded in 2000) and The Women's Center (founded in 1979). Compass Center's mission is to help all people navigate their journey to safety, stability, and empowerment. As the state-designated domestic violence service agency for Orange County, North Carolina, we serve the community through our Crisis, Stability, and Prevention programs and services. We empower individuals and promote equal access to opportunity regardless of gender or economic status.
