THE MSAN PLANS TO ACCOMPLISH ITS MISSION BY SUPPORTING CONSERVATION PRACTICES, FAMILIES WHO GROW AND CONSUME NATURAL FOOD FIBER, AND THE COMMUNITIES WHERE THEY LIVE. THE MSAN DEFINES "SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE" AS FARMING THAT SUPPORTS FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES WHILE CONSERVING NATURAL RESOURCES IN ORDER TO DEVELOP ECONOMICALLY AND ECOLOGICALLY RESPONSIBLE LOCAL FOOD SYSTEMS THROUGHOUT MISSISSIPPI.
