Arts Council of Beaufort County
We're the primary local arts organization in the Lowcountry and historic Beaufort, SC. We are tireless advocates for local artists, educators, and cultural organizations. We award quarterly grants in support of arts-based opportunities and advise anyone with cultural ideas, potential projects, or needs. We actively market the arts in Beaufort County through our Quarterly ArtNews and our website. Our three guiding goals are to be leaders and innovators in Incubating the Arts, Cultural Tourism and Arts Education. We are recognized around the state of South Carolina as a leading local arts agency and an innovator on all fronts. In 1999 Governor James Hodges awarded our organization with the Elizabeth O'Neill Verner Award as South Carolina's most outstanding arts organization. We are very proud of our work, our community's cultural identity, and the creative energy that makes Beaufort a remarkable County.
